Description

With the anticipation of making this an annual event, the Parks & Rec Committee is holding the first Annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Camp Hill Church Social Hall on Washington Street. This is a fund raising event open to the general public.  All proceeds will go toward refurbishing the top step at the Town’s bandstand where the engraved ‘CCB 1909’ etching is fading away. CCB 1909 stands for Citizens Concert Band 1909.  The CCB had the bandstand, commonly known as the town gazebo, moved from Island Park on Byrne’s Island in the Potomac River near the Hilltop House, to its current location in 1909. This is the only structure remaining from Island Park.  Please come and purchase homemade cookies provided by local volunteer bakers.  Cookies will be sold by the pound; you can pick and choose whichever and how many cookies you want. The Committee is also looking for volunteer bakers.  If you are interested in helping to make this event a success by donating your homemade cookies, please reach out to Pat Morse (patgmorse@gmail.com), Liesel Corder (hfmasecretary@gmail.com) or Nancy Cummins (ncummins@harpersferrywv.us) as soon as possible.  Please join in the fun to help save this piece of our town’s history!
