Stay Play Eat Shop!; Play; Eastern Panhandle; not HF Bolivar;

You could visit Historic Charles Town. There you could catch a play or opera at the Charles Town Old Opera House, learn more about the history of the area at the Jefferson County Historical Museum, or pick up some local art at the Washington Street Artists Cooperative. For those who prefer a more risky adventure, stop in at the Hollywood Casino or the Charles Town Races.

You could also visit Historic Shepherdstown and check out the Historic Shepherdstown Museum, see a play or film or hear some good music at the Shepherdstown Opera House. During the month of July, one can see many plays at the highly acclaimed Contemporary American Theatre Festival (CATF).

A few miles down the road from Charles Town is Historic Middleway with a fine collection of historic houses and other buildings.

You could also take a bit longer trip the Town of Bath (Berkeley Springs) founded in 1776 by George Washington and his family. It was the country's spa - and there you can see George's bathtub situated in a spring and cut out of rock.
