POTTERY. Using earthenware clay on a potter’s wheel and handmade molds, I create unassuming forms that lend themselves to surfaces rich in color and subtle texture. After an initial bisque firing, the pots are handpainted with underglaze slip, incised for visual interest, then coated with a clear, food-safe glaze before they are fired in my electric kiln. PORCELAIN TILES. Each tile starts as a drawing, which is transferred to plaster and then carved to create a mold.
